Broadway shows, restaurants, bars, clubs, parks, shops, cafes, museums — New York City is one of those rare places where you’ll never feel bored. Even if you have visited New York City before, it’s nearly impossible to cover the city in just one trip. If you’re thinking about planning a small trip sometime soon, then book these fares to the Big Apple that start at $118.

Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue and United Airlines are all offering flights to New York City from multiple U.S. cities.

With these bargain fares, you can fly to one of three airports in the New York City area: LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

Deal basics

Airlines: Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue and United.
Routes: Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, Washington and other cities to New York City.
How to book: Search through Google Flights for your best dates and then book directly with the airline of your choice.
Travel dates: Generally from December to March.
Book by: The next two to three days.

Currently, cities in the South, Midwest and West Coast have many discounted flights to the Big Apple. Additionally, a couple of cities in Maine — such as Bangor and Presque Isle — also have cheap routes to New York City. Florida cities like Miami and Tampa — along with Raleigh, North Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina — offer some of the cheapest flights in this bundle, priced at $118.

  • United: Miami International Airport (MIA) to EWR, starting at $118.
  • JetBlue and United: Orlando International Airport (MCO) to EWR, starting at $138.
  • JetBlue and Delta: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to LGA, starting at $148.
  • United and American: O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to EWR, starting at $172.
  • JetBlue and American: Denver International Airport (DEN) to JFK, starting at $178.
  • Alaska and JetBlue: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to EWR, starting at $180.
  • Alaska: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to JFK, starting at $198.

We recommend using Google Flights to find your ideal dates and then booking your flights directly on the airline’s website. If there’s a delay, cancellation or booking change, direct airline bookings are more dependable.

For a trip to New York on Feb. 2, Alaska has two flights from Seattle priced at $198 — one leaves at 2:15 p.m. and the other at 9:50 p.m.

When returning to Seattle on Feb. 9, Alaska offers one flight that departs JFK at 7:15 a.m. and another at 4:40 p.m. These flights to and from New York City are nonstop.

All the fares featured in these deals to New York City are only for basic economy. Alaska’s Saver fare — its basic economy equivalent — does not allow for seat selection or ticket changes.

While other airlines tend to offer seat selection for an additional fee with basic economy, Alaska’s Saver option does not; if you want to select a seat, you’d have to upgrade to the airline’s Main fare for an extra $100.

Even though basic economy has its restrictions, airlines have been discounting fares significantly since Thanksgiving. So, now couldn’t be a better time to book your flights, especially to a place like New York City.
