Solo travelers with a penchant for luxury, listen up. You won’t have to pay double on this cruise line to enjoy a luxury river sailing on your own.

Riverside Luxury Cruises is waiving the single supplement on select suites across its entire fleet.

It’s the line’s solution to a common problem: Solo travelers are often priced out of European river cruising due to hefty “single supplement” fees on cruisers sailing alone in a cabin intended for two passengers.

“We recognize that solo travel is an important and growing trend, and we at Riverside are committed to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all our guests,” Jennifer Halboth, CEO of Riverside Collection Americas, said. “By waiving the single supplement on select suites across our entire fleet, we aim to make river cruising more accessible to solo travelers, including women who are looking to explore Europe independently.”

Riverside Luxury Cruises’ single supplement waiver applies to select suites on the 162-passenger Riverside Mozart and the 110-passenger Riverside Debussy and Riverside Ravel. The three ships offer all-suite accommodations that feature king-size beds, floor-to-ceiling windows and upscale furnishings.

Suites available to solo cruisers include the 219-square-foot Harmony Suite on Riverside Mozart. The fixed-window room features a sofa, espresso coffee maker, bathrobes and slippers, and a glass-enclosed rain shower. Single travelers can also book the 183-square-foot Melody Suite on Riverside Debussy and Riverside Ravel. The suite features a panoramic balcony window, which lowers at the push of a button and offers the same amenities as the Harmony Suite.

Below are sample itineraries available with no single supplement fee:

  • Seven-night Danube Medley sailing, which calls on Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava, Slovakia. Passengers can explore the musical city of Vienna, ascend Castle Hill in Budapest to visit the country’s largest church and sample Bratislava’s local beers. Cruise fares start at $3,315 for solo travelers.
  • Seven-night Rhone Rhapsody itinerary, which includes stops in Lyon, Avignon and Chateauneuf-du-Pape in France. On this itinerary, guests will have the opportunity to tour the Palace of the Popes and savor French wines. Cruise fares start at $2,953 for solo travelers.
  • Seven-night Romantic Rhine Northbound, which visits Basel, Switzerland; Rudesheim, Germany; and Amsterdam. Guests can enjoy scenic sailing along the Rhine Gorge past castle ruins and vineyards. Cruise fares start at $4,596 for solo travelers.

All itineraries feature late or overnight stays in some of Europe’s most captivating towns and cities, offering guests extra time to explore the destination’s culture and nightlife.

Riverside Luxury Cruises is Europe’s newest luxury river cruise line, offering itineraries along the Rhine, Rhone, Danube, Moselle and Main rivers. Onboard offerings include butler service, gourmet dining, included premium wines and spirits, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Additionally, guests can take advantage of included shore excursions at each port, prepaid gratuities for the ship’s crew and guides/drivers on land, and complimentary ground transfers.

If you plan to book a luxury solo cruise, book soon. The single supplement waiver is subject to availability, and quantities are limited.
