Sample flights

If you live in California or Seattle, these flights to Tahiti are a great deal. Tickets can be as much as $1,500, and these fares are discounted by as much as 54%.

Here are all the flights you can take to Tahiti in this offer:

  • Delta and Air France: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Faaa International Airport (PPT), starting at $600.
  • United: San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to PPT, starting at $633.
  • Air France, Delta and United: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to PPT, starting at $712 (Delta and Air France have layovers in Los Angeles; United has one in San Francisco).
  • Air France and Delta: Oakland International Airport (OAK) to PPT, starting at $771 (includes a layover in Los Angeles).

We recommend searching for your best dates through Google Flights, and then booking your flights directly on the airline’s website since airlines are a safer option in the event your flight is canceled, delayed or has a booking change.

If you want to spend your Christmas soaking in the sun in Tahiti, Google Flights shows two Dec. 24 flights departing from Los Angeles at $600. The Delta flight departs Los Angeles at 11:10 a.m., and the Air France flight leaves at 11:30 p.m.

If you plan to return to Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, Delta and Air France offer two options from Tahiti that keep the fare at $600.

The fares featured in this bargain are for basic economy only. Delta’s basic economy, for example, does not let passengers select seats and carries additional fees for ticket changes. However, Delta’s basic economy allows passengers to bring one free carry-on.

Despite the restrictions that come with basic economy, a $600 fare from Los Angeles to Tahiti is low, as the cheapest fares to the French Polynesian island range from $910 to $2,300, according to Google Flights.

If you want to select seats, upgrade to Delta’s main cabin fare for an additional $150, which will bring your fare up to $750.

Bottom line

These fares are great for a holiday trip to Tahiti, where you can spend your time on the beach and in the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Despite the limitations of basic economy and that the only available routes are from the West Coast, deals like this to Tahiti don’t often come around. Book your tickets soon, as flights will surely fill up the longer you wait.
